When Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 lineup, the handsets came with the usual hardware upgrades. But more excitingly, they also came with a bunch of AI tools in the form of Galaxy AI. Samsung is looking to expand Galaxy AI beyond its phones as they will be bringing it to their wearables.

This is according to an editorial penned by Samsung mobile chief Dr. TM Roh. The post talks about mobile AI and also reveals some of Samsung’s plans. According to Roh:

“In the near future, select Galaxy wearables will use AI to enhance digital health and unlock a whole new era of expanded, intelligent health experiences. Samsung will keep enriching and expanding Galaxy AI experiences across categories through collaborations with more industry-leading AI partners.”

It will be interesting to see how Galaxy AI will affect and enhance the way we use our wearables. A recent report suggested that Google could be bringing Gemini support to Google Assistant earbuds, so it’s not a stretch to think Samsung could be thinking of doing something similar. The company recently introduced Galaxy AI to Bixby, so that seems like a logical first step.

Samsung is also working on a smart ring that could launch later this year. Unlike a smartwatch, a smart ring does not have a display. Integrating AI into such a device makes a lot of sense and will allow users to interact with it in new ways. Either way, we’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out.
